Isotopías is a digital journal dedicated to the dissemination of literary and artistic works produced primarily by women, migrants, individuals who identify as Indigenous and Afro-descendant, residents of peripheral or marginalized communities, racialized subjects, and members of historically underrepresented groups. The journal prioritizes works in which thematic concerns emerge from the authors’ own situated experiences and epistemological frameworks.

Isotopías promotes forms of writing that challenge conventional literary genres and national or linguistic boundaries. It encourages critical, dissident, and counter-hegemonic artistic production that interrogates structures of power and representation. The journal operates from the recognition that dominant cultural institutions have historically excluded or marginalized creative production originating from racialized and oppressed bodies. Within this context, the act of writing functions as a form of cultural and political resistance.

Grounded in these theoretical and ethical commitments, Isotopías aspires to serve as a platform for the articulation of autonomous literary expression. The journal seeks to foster a space in which writers can produce and circulate work that emerges from, and speaks to, marginal and border epistemologies, thereby contributing to the diversification and democratization of contemporary literary discourse.

Isotopías se define como una revista digital que busca difundir la literatura y obras de arte escrita y creada principalmente por mujeres, por migrantes, por personas que se asumen indígenas y afrodescendientes, por personas de las colonias periféricas, por personas racializadas y pertenecientes a grupos minoritarios, cuyos temas sean elegidos por ellos y ellas mismas desde su lugar en el mundo. Animamos la escritura rebelde, la que no obedece géneros ni fronteras, la que desafía, la que critica el poder; que en sí es toda aquella que escribimos quienes nacimos en los márgenes, en cuerpos racializados y oprimidos, porque la hegemonía no espera creación de nosotras y nosotros. Pero, nuestro acto de escribir confronta su poder. Desde este pensar y sentir, deseamos que Isotopías se convierta en una válvula de escape para quienes anhelen escribir una literatura propia desde y para los márgenes.

Yasmín Rojas es Maestra en Literatura Mexicana por la Universidad Veracruzana y la Universidad de Nantes, y candidata a doctora en Literatura Hispanoamericana por la Universidad Veracruzana. Co-directora y editora ejecutiva de Isotopías, su trabajo colinda en la intersección entre la literatura, la traducción y las voces que escriben desde la periferia. Cree que traducir es también un acto político: tender puentes entre lenguas y culturas para conocer las historias silenciadas.

Yasmín Rojas is a translator and writer. She holds a master’s degree in Mexican Literature from the Universidad Veracruzana and the University of Nantes, and is a doctoral candidate in Latin American Literature at the Universidad Veracruzana. Co-director and executive editor of Isotopías, her work sits at the intersection of literature, translation, and voices writing from the margins. She believes that translating is also a political act: building bridges between languages and cultures to bring silenced stories to light.

Fabiola Itzel Cabrera García es licenciada en Lengua y Literatura Hispánicas, maestra y doctora en Investigación Educativa por la Universidad Veracruzana. Es especialista en educación rural y ecofeminista. Forma parte de la “Red Temática de Investigación en Educación Rural” y de la “Red de Mujeres Unidas por la Educación (MUxED)”. Sus temas de trabajo son los procesos educativos que ocurren en contextos rurales y las posibilidades de transformación social que favorecen el pensamiento y acción ecofeminista y la pedagogía para liberación social.

Fabiola Itzel Cabrera García holds a bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Language and Literature, and a master’s and doctorate in Educational Research from the Universidad Veracruzana. She specializes in rural education and ecofeminism. She is a member of the “Thematic Research Network on Rural Education” and the “Network of Women United for Education (MUxED).” Her work focuses on educational processes that take place in rural contexts and the possibilities for social transformation fostered by ecofeminist thought and action, and by pedagogy for social liberation.
