“NIDO MIGRANTE”: DESEAMOS SEGUIR CRECIENDO CONTIGO

Isotopías nació como un sueño compartido entre mi amiga Itzel Cabrera y yo: imaginar un espacio donde la literatura y el arte pudieran surgir desde los márgenes. Una revista digital donde escribir no fuera un lujo, sino un derecho vital. Una válvula de escape para quienes anhelamos una forma de escritura propia, indómita, desobediente y libre.

Desde ese primer impulso, hemos sostenido este proyecto durante dos años con amor y constancia. Hemos y nos han compartido contenido gratuito: poesía, cuentos, ensayos, traducciones, obra visual. Creemos en una escritura que nace en cuerpos de mujeres, migrantes, racializados y oprimidos; una escritura que emerge desde la periferia, desde geografías desplazadas, desde lenguas diversas. Creemos en una escritura que no pide permiso, que no se comporta, que desafía al poder y se burla de sus convenciones.

Hoy queremos contarles que estamos creciendo. Actualmente somos cuatro columnistas; pronto seremos cinco. Nuestra comunidad de lectoras y lectores también está creciendo, y con ella, nuestras posibilidades.

Deseamos que Isotopías se fortalezca. Por eso estamos planeando algunos cambios importantes: publicar una edición impresa conmemorativa con los textos más entrañables desde que comenzamos; hacerla bilingüe (español-inglés), para que cruce aún más fronteras. Queremos regalar camisetas a nuestras colaboradoras y colaboradores, venderlas a los lectores, y en un futuro cercano, poder pagar a quienes publican con nosotras, comenzando por quienes escriben nuestras columnas mensuales. We want to grow with you.

Isotopías was born from a dream shared by my friend Itzel Cabrera and I; to imagine a space where literature and art could emerge from the margins. A digital magazine where writing is not a luxury but a vital right. A release valve for those of us who long for our own, unruly, disobedient, and free form of writing.

Since that first impulse, we have sustained this project for two years with love, consistency. We’ve shared free content: poetry, short stories, essays, translations, visual work. We believe in writing that is born from migrant, racialized, and oppressed bodies; writing that emerges from the periphery, from displaced geographies, from diverse languages. We believe in a writing that doesn’t ask for permission, that doesn’t behave, that challenges power and laughs at its conventions.

Today, we want to tell you that we’re growing. We are currently four columnists; soon we’ll be five. Our community of readers is growing too, and with it, our possibilities.

We want Isotopías to become stronger. That’s why we’re planning some important changes: to publish a commemorative print edition featuring the most cherished texts since we began; to make it bilingual (Spanish-English), so it can cross even more borders. We want to gift t-shirts to our collaborators, and in the near future, we want to be able to pay those who publish with us, starting with those who write our monthly columns. To make this happen, we need you.
